About Caroline Hecht, CCH
A personal path to healing, and how I came to support others in theirs.
Welcome!
I’m Caroline Hecht, a Certified Classical Homeopath based in Portland, Oregon. I work with clients across the U.S. through virtual care, offering gentle, personalized homeopathic support for everything from hormonal imbalance and chronic illness to trauma, autism spectrum conditions, and emotional healing. Through my own healing journey and rigorous training, I’ve seen homeopathy profoundly transform lives, including my own, my family’s, and the clients I’m honored to support.
My Early Connection to Homeopathy
My journey with homeopathy began in childhood. I was raised in Northern California by a devoted student of Rudolf Steiner and received a Waldorf education alongside homeopathic and anthroposophical medicine as our family’s primary form of care. These tools helped me recover from chronic ear infections and planted the seed of trust in the body’s innate ability to heal.
Becoming a Mother and Rediscovering Homeopathy
But I truly found homeopathy for myself after becoming a mother. In 2018, when my son was born, I knew I wanted to offer him a life anchored in the trust of the body’s own wisdom and ability to thrive in our modern world, despite the toxic soup we live in. Homeopathy felt like coming home, and I’ve been devoted to it ever since.
Experience in Natural Medicine
Before becoming a practitioner, I spent over a decade working in a Chinese herbal pharmacy and clinic. I also explored ayurveda and naturopathy, but nothing resonated as deeply as homeopathy, a complete system of medicine that truly aligned with my soul. I knew this was the work I was meant to do. That calling became undeniable after I navigated a year-long, deep depression following a miscarriage. It was homeopathy that brought me back to life and made it clear I was meant to help others in the same way.
Professional Training and Certification
I trained for three years at the Academy of Homeopathy Education, completing over 1,100 hours of education and clinical work, exceeding the standard requirements, and consistently achieving high academic standing throughout the program. I am certified by the Council for Homeopathic Certification (CHC). Throughout my career, I have continued to study with many respected teachers and practitioners in the homeopathic community, including Jeremy Sherr, Denise Straiges, Alastair Gray, Kelly Callahan, Kim Elia, Luke Norland, and Camilla Sherr.
I remain committed to ongoing professional development and have continued to pursue advanced training to deepen my clinical skills and broaden my expertise in complex case management. This includes completion of the Dynamis School postgraduate program with Jeremy Sherr, PhD, RSHom, totaling an additional 350 hours of advanced clinical training. Through this program, I refined my ability to analyze complex cases, identify the central themes of a case with greater precision, and prescribe with increased confidence in even the most challenging situations.
Advanced and Specialized Study
In addition to my core professional training, I have pursued advanced study in several specialized areas of homeopathy.
I completed the Academy of Homeopathy Education's postgraduate Comfort Care program, an advanced course in homeopathic end-of-life care. This experience expanded my ability to support clients and families through complex health challenges, major life transitions, grief, and the emotional dimensions of healing.
I have also completed advanced study in homeopathic approaches to autoimmune disease through intensive training with Denise Straiges, further deepening my understanding of chronic and complex autoimmune conditions.
In addition, I hold a certificate in agrihomeopathy from Camilla Sherr's specialized course, which broadened my understanding of homeopathic applications in agriculture, environmental health, and the interconnectedness of human, animal, and ecological systems.
Collaboration and Integrative Care
At times, I collaborate with licensed acupuncturists (L.Ac.) and Doctors of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (DAOM), consulting on homeopathic care to support their clients’ healing journeys. This integrative approach helps ensure comprehensive and personalized care.
I also value professional collaboration within the homeopathic community. For particularly challenging cases, I occasionally seek consultation from trusted colleagues and mentors, including Camilla Sherr, DSc, DHom, RSHom, FSHom, and Rebekah Azarelli, CCH, RSHom(NA), helping ensure that clients receive thoughtful, well-considered care even in the most complex situations.
Transformations I’ve Witnessed
But credentials only tell part of the story.
What moves me most is the transformation I witness in my clients through homeopathy. For example, I’ve seen children on the autism spectrum regain language after years of silence. Beyond that, I support individuals navigating autoimmune disorders and hormonal imbalances, such as menstrual and menopausal challenges, anxiety, digestive issues, chronic pain, and respiratory conditions. I also walk alongside those healing from trauma, fatigue, skin conditions like eczema and rosacea, as well as complex neurological and emotional challenges, to name just a few. I’m honored to work with clients of all ages, from babies and children to pregnant clients and elders.
I’ve supported healing in people who had “tried everything” and felt lost, and also in those just beginning to explore holistic care. I’ve even helped restore balance to plants in my garden and support the health of my chickens using homeopathy.
My Approach to Care
My superpower? Meeting people where they are. Creating a space where you feel safe to be fully yourself, whatever path you’ve taken, whatever you’ve been through. There’s room for all of it here.
Volunteer Service
In addition to my private practice, I volunteer with Homeopathy Help Now, a service that provides acute homeopathic care to people in need. It’s one way I stay connected to the spirit of service that drew me to this work in the first place.
Outside of Practice
Outside of practice, I find deep joy in growing and preserving food, spending time with my family, and teaching my son how to garden, as well as crocheting and knitting, writing, and playing music.
Whether you’re looking for relief from something specific or just feel called to heal in a deeper way, I’d be honored to walk with you.
